A program dedicated to children aged 7-14 - an insight into the basic foundations of techniques, language and the process of film making/ photography, prop, set and costume design with Nadia Calipa.
An opportunity for children to unveil some of the magic behind the power of these mediums - concepts such as how to read a film or image and how to create one will make hours of hands on activity possible.
Using two different techniques with Nadia Calipa;
Wet felting, where natural wool fibers are worked in with soapy water.
Needle felting - this is widely used in Austria and Scandinavia. In needle felting no water is used just a hand held needle or a group of needles enabling the wool fibers to bind and sculpt a shape. A great way for for adding detail to wet felted cloth.

This is aimed at those with some experience of drawing from a life model. Students will be encouraged to explore the human form through direct observation and experimentation using a variety of different media that will translate and interpret the anatomy of the model in a fresh and exciting way.
These sessions are for anyone who has always wanted to have a go at using clay, or for those who already enjoy working with clay but would like to gain more knowledge and experience. We will use a variety of hand building techniques such as pinching, slabs, coiling and simple tile and relief methods. Decoration and texture will be added with slips and glazes.
